TIA issued comments to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding their efforts to draft new Net Neutrality rules. In the comments, which are available here, TIA provides detailed insight, opinions and guidance on a range of critical issues.

TIA filed comments today supporting the opening of spectrum in the 3.5 GHz band to commercial use that would allow for increased access to mobile broadband while maintaining appropriate protections for incumbent users.

TIA applauded the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for issuing guidance on electronic labeling (eLabeling) for information and communications technology (ICT) equipment needing FCC certification.

TIA applauded the bipartisan leadership of Senators Rockefeller and Fischer in introducing the Enhance Labeling, Accessing, and Branding of Electronic Licenses Act of 2014 (E-LABEL Act).

TIA submitted comments to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in response to a joint agency FDASIA Health IT Report: Proposed Risk Based Regulatory Framework about a proposed risk-based regulatory framework and strategy for health IT.

Arlington, VA (July 3, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today submitted comments to the European Commission’s Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content & Technology to provide guidance on unlocking the potential of mobile health (mHealth) in the European Union (EU).

In its comments, TIA urged the EU to enhance the use of mHealth through the following:

TIA issued comments to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) supporting the Voice Communication Exchange Committee (VCXC) request that the FCC issue a Notice of Inquiry on the migration to high definition (HD) voice as part of the Internet Protocol (IP) transition.

TIA released its 2014 ICT Market Review & Forecast (MR&F) – the industry’s most comprehensive data review and analysis.  The report finds that in 2013, for the first time, United States information and communications technology (ICT) spending accelerated faster than overall global spending – a trend that is expected to continue through 2017.  Additionally, the U.S. has passed Europe in overall ICT spending by region, and now ranks behind only Asia.

TIA applauded Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) for introducing the Wi-Fi Innovation Act.
