TIA applauded the confirmation of Sen. Max Baucus as U.S. Ambassador to China.

TIA filed comments with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on its draft guidance regarding hearing aids and personal sound amplification devices (PSAPs).

Proposal Requires All New Cars Sold in U.S. to Have Communication Radios Allowing Cars to Talk to Other Cars and Nearby Traffic Infrastructure

TIA applauded the FCC and Chairman Wheeler for unanimously voting to allow communication networks to conduct pilot programs that would examine any possible issues that may arise during the transition to Internet Protocol (IP) networks. The ruling took place today during an open meeting of the FCC.

TIA is grateful to President Obama for mentioning many of the items in TIA’s recently-released 2014 Innovation Agenda in his State of the Union Address.

TIA released its 2014 Innovation Agenda, which identifies the organization’s tech and telecom policy priorities for the year ahead. The Innovation Agenda is focused on three high level goals: Drive Investment, Recapture Global Investment, and Enable Forward-Looking Technologies. With each, TIA has identified specific policy positions it will advocate to help achieve these critical goals.

TIA submitted comments on the Department of Defense’s (DoD) interim rule amending the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).

TIA urged Congress to avoid mandates regarding wireless 911 location issues.

TIA announced its support for the Bipartisan Congressional Trade Priorities Act of 2014. The legislation would renew the President’s Trade Promotion Authority while establishing Congressional negotiating objectives for trade agreements.
